OVERCHARGING FOR SERVICES

On July 7th -- I called Roto Rooter to move a spigot from my back deck to the side of my house (same side and only had to move the spigot about 14 feet). They wanted to charge me $2100 to take care of this. I am so happy that I am big on research and big on getting other estimates. This was highway robbery. I had another plumber to do the same job for $200 and everything worked out well. I will not use their services ever again.

User's recommendation: Check with your neighbors about the plumbers they use that do an awesome job and won't try to charge you an arm and a leg for a simple task.

They pass themself off as another company in the yellow pages.

I looked up sewer cleaners and found Guthries. I called and was scheduled for the afternoon. They called to say they were on their way and was told they were Roto Rooter! I told the tech I was disappointed about who the were. They have a price of $411 to clean the sewer line. This is overpriced! I contacted the manager about the whole experience and she was not understanding at all! She verbally put me down and said I should have not answered the door!

I am so disappointed I can not get a receipt from Rota Rooter for almost a year now.

I cannot believe that Roto Rooter will not email a receipt for the job done on my premises in January 2020 after recommendation from the person that never give or email a receipt. Presently I have been calling, and you all put it under a rug.

Garbage Disposal Installation

I purchased a garbage disposal from Lowes and decided to try to install it myself instead of paying $129 for their contractor. It wasn't nearly as easy as the youtube video made it look, so I gave up and called RR to see if I could get a better price. It was odd that they wouldn't give a quote over the phone for such a routine task. A few days later, a tech showed up and he gave me an estimate of $500. He might have said a gazillion dollars and he seemed put off when I said no thanks. I don't know how they can run a business that way.
